An article was published on Saturday October 27th KOSMO SUKAN by the Journalist Kamaruddin Ismael under the headline “Dua import Perak tarik harga”.
We are seeking an immediate public retraction of the article as there are a number of incorrect facts in the piece and also the journalist quoted anonymous sources from within PAFA and did not verify his facts with the relevant people within PAFA.
The factual errors are:
- The salary stated for the players is totally incorrect.
- The players did not also ask for a salary increase of double as stated.. Keita denies having spoken these words to anybody (Para 7 of article)
Only two PAFA members were privy to any negotiation with the said players, myself as team manager and President Dato Muhiyuddin and neither of us were given the professional courtesy of being approached to verify this anonymous source.
We feel it is essential that any information that comes from PAFA is the truth as the fans deserve this courtesy. The journalist has either made up this story or has been lied to by a PAFA member who did not have the courage to name himself. I can categorically state that the players were made an offer which at first Keita accepted and then rejected due to a genuine personal matter in Guinea. Troare was also made an offer but he could not guarantee his return due to an important legal matter in Burkina Fasao.
Both players acted in the upmost professional manner and all dealings were amicable. We are currently sourcing foreign players within the restrictions of our budget. This is an immense financial outlay so the process is being undertaken thoroughly.
